Iowa Andhi is a co-ed competitive South Asian fusion dance team. We mix various South Asian and Western dance styles to create a unique and engaging set throughout the year. Andhi performs at various cultural events on the University of Iowa campus throughout the year and participates in competitions across the country. We strive to promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
Iowa Andhi has been a competitive team since 2019. We competed at Purdue University during the spring of 2022 and placed third overall! We then had the privilege to travel again and compete at the University of Indiana in the Spring of 2023. Now, we've earned the opportunity to compete at Texas A&M University this spring, chosen among 80+ teams nationwide. However, the journey requires significant funds—approximately nine thousand dollars—for flights, food, registration, applications, costumes, props, etc.
Having navigated a rigorous audition process and recognizing the scarcity of Midwest competitions, we've accepted the challenge of representing UIowa in Texas. Your support will not only help us meet these financial demands but also enable us to continue representing South Asian culture and the University of Iowa on a broader stage. Join us in making this dance journey a reality!
