Iowa Formula Racing

About us:

We are the Iowa Formula Racing team! We’re a student organization at the University of Iowa that designs and builds an electric race car. Last year was our very first year as a team and we designed and built that car in only ONE year! Now, we’re working on our new and improved designs for Formula SAE California in Fontana, California of June 2020.

Why we need your help:

Donors who support our project help us get materials from the big and little electrical components to get the car running to the seatbelt that straps us in. Not only that, but your help allows students to practice skills not taught in the classroom that can be taken with them to jobs outside of college.

Help us reach our goal, and let’s build a racecar!

PCB Components

While one of the smallest; these are one of the most important components of the car.

Low Voltage Wire

A donation at this level will help us get the wire we need to be able to connect all of the boards in our car so they can communicate with one another.

Nuts and Bolts

These are necessary to secure components to the car.

High Voltage Wire

This wire is necessary to safely transport high voltage from the battery to the motor to get our car moving.

Seat Belt

Safety is key when designing our car. We need a specialized driver harness in order to keep the driver safe and secure at all times.
