Hawkeye Marching Band Sudler Trophy
We are the University of Iowa Alumni Band Leadership Board, and we are raising funds that will help the Hawkeye Marching Band acquire a replica of the Sudler Trophy, for which the HMB was the 1990 recipient. The Board discovered earlier this year that the UI didn’t purchase this replica in 1990, and we are coming up on the 30th anniversary of our winning it. We believed it was time to do something about that.
This trophy serves as a symbol of pride for current and former members of the Hawkeye Marching Band, and can be an example to prospective members that represents the level of excellence that is expected when they don the black and gold.
We want to help our current HMB director, Dr. Eric Bush to get the trophy on campus for Homecoming 2020, the 140th edition of the Hawkeye Marching Band.
We need to raise $3,000 to cover the cost of the trophy, and it takes nearly a year to have the trophy produced and on campus in time for next year’s Homecoming. This means that we are trying to raise these funds by late October in order to accomplish this. Please click on "Give Now" to make your contribution today. We have until October 23, 2019 to raise the money needed.
You can also make a gift offline by mailing a check to the UI Center for Advancement at 1 West Park Road, Iowa City, IA 52242. Please reference the "Alumni Band Crowdfunding Project" in the memo line.
Thank you for considering a gift to the Sudler Trophy Campaign!
